Traditional Chinese ink paintings often use mountains and rivers as the subject. Natural resources such as stones and wood are transformed into pigments and transferred onto paper through the brushes. The paper, tinted with the moving brushstrokes of different colours and forms, is transcended into an ink painting. In addition to depicting natureitself, the ink alsoembodies another form of natural beauty.

Through learning the forms of different ores, the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) generates stones of assorted colours and patterns and explores the possibilities of natural colours. Transformed from the stones, the flowing ink culminates in a landscape of mountains and rivers, thereby constructing a painting of nature drawn by the computer.
